Help Fight Adult Illiteracy: First MIX And MATCH Campaign Is November 18

    What Is It?

    The kickoff event will be a great opportunity for interested parties to hear from industry leaders, while learning how to snag the $7 million Barbara Bush Foundation Adult Literacy XPRIZE sponsored by Dollar General Literacy Foundation.

    The keynote speaker will be Byron Pitts, ABC News Anchor, Adult Learner and author of "Step Out on Nothing," a memoir of his experience overcoming the challenge of "functional illiteracy" until age 12 and eventually becoming a journalist, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

    In addition, the panel will include successful EdTech leaders who will share their views on the issue. Featured guests include Stephanie Dua, CEO of Homer; Paul Gollash, CEO of Voxy; Jonathan Harber, Former CEO of Pearson and founder of School Net; Michael Preston, executive director of CSNYC; Jake Schwartz, CEO of General Assembly.

    Other interesting talks will include a Skype conversation with Former First Lady Barbara Bush and another videocall with Peter Diamandis, chairman and CEO of the XPRIZE Foundation.
