Sense on Cents Request: Your "Solutions for America"

“It's about time you came up with an issue that is fixable…”

Despite the fact that I fervently believe all the issues I broach are fixable if the requisite transparency is applied and the subsequent truth is embraced, I understood the reader's point and he got me thinking.

Does anybody doubt that our politicians are all too often engaged in chasing their tail and looking for campaign funds? While those in Washington talk to themselves and their cronies, let's direct our own focus and generate what I would deem as “Solutions for America.” Your assistance and support in this exercise and effort is requested and appreciated. 

Do not think for a second that ideas expressed here will not quickly work their way to Washington. I can share with you that individuals from many public offices in Washington and around the country read this blog everyday. On that note, I will prime the pump and put forth a handful of my “Solutions for America.” Please speak your mind and do not be bashful. In no order of priority I would recommend the following Sense on Cents ”Solutions for America”:

1. A high school diploma, equivalency degree, or trade certification is a prerequisite for receiving any form or substance of government  assistance. (My Sense on Cents Solution for America; July 15, 2012)

2. Financial self-regulatory organizations no longer can operate under the umbrella of “absolute immunity”.

3. Each and every government agency and associated entity, especially all financial regulators, must operate under the Freedom of Information Act.

4. Every financial transaction, be it a mutual fund or a mortgage, must have a simple, separate, and highlighted listing of all fees and expenses associated with the transaction.

5. I am firmly convinced that bad practices within our financial industry would be exposed if whistleblowers were truly protected. To this end, I am so convinced that we need a separate Office of Whistleblower Protection for protecting the identity of those who have to this point put themselves in professional harm's way.

I could go on at length but I want to hear from readers. What are those issues you would like to see addressed and specific solutions you would propose?
