- Advanced EGR cooler, EGR valve and bypass valve provide single-source solution for reducing emissions

- Each component optimized for dependable performance

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BorgWarner's exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technologies—including an EGR cooler, EGR valve and pneumatic bypass valve—reduce emissions for the Ford Power Stroke® 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine. The second-generation engine powers Ford's all-new 2017 F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty® trucks. Engineered for durability and reliability, BorgWarner has optimized each EGR component for dependable performance.

Engineered for performance, durability and reliability, BorgWarner's EGR technologies offer automakers a single-source solution for reducing emissions.

"BorgWarner delivers the best EGR technologies from a single source and is the only supplier to offer Ford a complete EGR solution for this application," said Joe Fadool, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Emissions & Thermal Systems. "We are proud to provide our leading EGR technologies, already proven in vehicles around the world, to Ford's customers in North America."

One of the most effective methods of reducing diesel engine emissions, EGR recirculates exhaust gas to reduce the high temperatures in the combustion chamber, where emissions start. BorgWarner's EGR cooler features specially designed tubes to dissipate heat quickly and resist soot and hydrocarbon buildup, while the floating core allows for expansion and contraction within the thermal cycle for increased durability. BorgWarner's latest EGR valve provides high flow with low leakage, and the integrated bypass valve allows some exhaust gases to bypass the EGR cooler during engine warm up to reduce cold-start emissions.
