Curb Your Enthusiasm: Larry David's Show Is Returning To HBO, But Not So Soon

After a five-year wait, fans won’t be able to curb their enthusiasm: HBO’s hit comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back soon, channel execs said on Tuesday.

For those unfamiliar with Curb Your Enthusiasm, this was a TV series created by Seinfeld’s co-creator Larry David that ran for eight seasons, until 2011. While Time Warner Inc TWX’s HBO did not say when the ninth season of Curb would begin shooting or when it would air, the premium cable channel operator assured its longest-running scripted drama or comedy series is coming back with all-new episodes.Futhermore, the show received a total of seven nominations for the Emmy Awards for outstanding comedy series, and managed to win the Golden Globe for best comedy back in 2002.

In a statement, Larry David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

Casey Bloys, HBO’s new president of programming, who took over about a month ago, added, “We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned.”

Shares of Time Warner lost 0.51 percent on Tuesday trading.
