General Electric Reaches $31 For The First Time Since December

General Electric Company GE shares are trading higher by $0.87 at $31.04 in Thursday's session. It is far outpacing the index's barely 1 percent gain, trading higher by nearly 3 percent.

Off the open, it immediately found support at Wednesday's close ($30.17) and began to move higher. So far, it has reached $31.11 and is not far off that level.

This marks the first time the issue has traded in the $31 handle since late December when it put in a trio of highs at the $31.50 area. That took the issue back to levels not seen since May 2008.
