In a report published Friday, Brean Murray, Carret & Co. reiterated its Buy rating on Electronic Arts
EA
but lowered its price target from $18.00 to $14.00. Brean Murray noted, “We believe EA will ultimately make a successful transition to digital. The transition to digital has put tremendous strain on the video game group, increasing uncertainty, raising risk profiles, and crushing valuations. EA's pullback has been particularly acute, exacerbated by its unrealistic expectations for its Star Wars MMO and a devaluation of its investments in social and mobile. We don't expect a swift turnaround in this dynamic. However, we believe a new model is emerging and that EA will be one of the few survivors of this transition and that with a rationalization of supply, industry economics will first stabilize and then eventually improve. At current levels, we believe shares of EA have fully priced in the risks associated with this transition.” Electronic Arts closed on Thursday at $10.95.
