Research in Motion to Report 1Q11 Results on Thurs (RIMM)

Research in Motion RIMM will host a conference call on Thursday to report fiscal 1Q11 results. RIMM is known for its Blackberry phone. The North American smartphone market is very competitive, as RIMM has ceded the top smartphone position at each of the 4 major carriers. Analysts said, "We are modeling fiscal first-quarter EPS of $1.36, $0.02 above consensus. Our revenue estimate of $4.4 billion implies an 8% sequential increase and 29% growth year-over-year. We expect 11.5 million device shipments with an average selling price (ASP) of $306, in line with guidance and preliminary Street estimates."
