BlackBerry Ltd BBRY shares are trading higher by $0.15 at $11.37 in Friday's session.
The catalyst for the rally is confirmation that Qualcomm QCOM will pay the company $814.9M million, plus interest and attorneys' fees, over a royalty dispute.

After a higher open, the stock had a brief retreat but found support a penny above Thursday's close at $11.23 and continued its move higher. The ensuing rally has pierced the series of four highs at the $11.40 area, so far reaching $11.55.
That marks the highest level for Blackberry's stock since January 14, 2015, when it peaked at $12.63.
