Blackstone Group LP (NYSE: BX) shares are trading higher by $0.60 at $30.66 in Thursday's session.

Before the open, the global alternative asset manager reported a Q1 beat of $0.09 along with a revenue beat of $165 million.

After a higher open, Blackstone's stock rallied another nickel to $31.05 and then reversed course. That level is just shy of a pair of highs from February 15 ($31.06) and February 16 ($31.15). The retreat from the high found support one penny under the upper-end of Wednesday's range ($30.35) at $30.34.

At this time, the rebound off that low has been capped at $30.74 and began to drift back towards the lows of the session.
