Monsanto Investors Still Waiting For Takeover Bid

Monsanto Co. MON shares are trading lower by $1.64 at in Monday's session. It has been three days since rumors surfaced by the company was being target by Bayer of Germany as a potential takeover candidate. At this time, sources at Monsanto have told Benzinga that they do not comment on such rumors. When the rumor originally surfaced on Wednesday evening the issue surged to $109.99 in Thursday's session, but quickly repelled off that elevated level and not traded no higher the $100.85 in Thursday's regular hours session. It peaked just ahead of that level on Friday ($100.47) and has been unable to break into triple digits in today;s session, with the really stalling at $99.63. On the downside, one level stands out besides Thursday's session low of $96.08. That would be the pair of lows from Friday ($97.70) and Monday'($97.98) session. In the event, that a deal does not come to fruition in the not so distance future, Monsanto is in danger of returning to the level it was as before rumor surfaced, which is down at Wednesday's close of $90.34.
