Metlife Inc MET shares are trading lower by $2.47 at $39.46 in Thursday's session. The catalyst for the decline is a Q4 EPS miss of $0.13 along with a $500 million for revenues.
The Street was leaning the right way into the report as it had traded lower in each of three previous sessions, falling from $44.28 to $41.95.
After a lower open, it managed a $0.22 pop to $40.84 before continuing lower. The ensuing decline has taken the issue to $39.27 and is not far off that level.
This marks the lowest level for the issue since it bottomed in May 2013 at $38.37.
