Kinect has become one of the hottest video game accessories of the year. Though consumers in general seem to be wowed by the technology, the device is doing particularly well those who
love to hack
. The results have been
very impressive
. However, despite the success of the device,
Barron's
reports that Kinect is unlikely to help Microsoft's bottom line. Right now, Microsoft expects to sell five million Kinects by Christmas. However, even if the Windows maker was able to sell 10 million units, Kinect's success would only represent about 2% of total revenue. Barron's said that Microsoft is expected to generate $68.6 billion of revenue for its current fiscal year ending June 30.
