US Rare Earths

Shares of US Rare Earths (OTC: UREE), the Lonoke, AR mineral exploration, mining and claims acquisition company, rose 100% Thursday on 4 times average volume.

U.S. Rare Earths announced Monday the results of a review of its Diamond Creek (Idaho) deposit, based on historical studies supplemented by recent field work.

The review, conducted by James Hedrick, head of the USRE Advisory Board, builds on U.S. Geological Survey reports that indicate a total probable potential resource of 68,495 tons of Rare Earth Oxide in Diamond Creek.

In addition to its Rare Earths findings, the USGS reported gold contents at Diamond Creek of 0.583, 2.40, and 11.931 g/metric ton (0.017, 0.07, and 0.348 oz/short ton) from samples cut across one of the larger veins. A high of 102.857 g/metric ton (3 oz/ton) of gold has been reported for one of the veins by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (now the Nuclear Regulatory Commission).

US Rare Earths closed at $2.00 on Thursday.

USA Technologies

USA Technologies (NASDAQ: USAT), the San Diego, CA provider of wireless, cashless payment systems, rose 21.77% Thursday on 10 times average volume.

In 8-K filing Wednesday, USA Technologies stated: On October 9, 2012, USA Technologies and Visa (NYSE: V), entered into a First Amendment to the agreement that had been previously entered into between them on October 12, 2011 Pursuant to the First Amendment, the original one-year term of the Agreement has been extended until October 31, 2013, and will automatically renew for an additional year, or until October 31, 2014, unless either party would provide at least 60-days prior notice of non-renewal.

USA Technologies closed at $1.51 on Thursday.


Shares of DragonWave (NASDAQ: DRWI), the Ottawa, Canada provider of high-capacity packet microwave solutions that drive next-generation IP networks, rose 11.36% Thursday on 7.5 times average volume.

DragonWave reported a small than expected loss Wednesday in their Q2 earnings report.

DragonWave closed at $2.45 on Thursday.
