The move comes as a part of plans to expand its offerings to U.K. consumers, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-09-20/jpmorgan-begins-testing-uk-credit-cards-in-latest-overseas-foray?srnd=homepage-Americas&amp;sref=TBDibEcD" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reported </a>Bloomberg. The bank&#8217;s senior executives are said to be testing the credit cards within their mobile apps.
A person familiar with the matter said to Bloomberg that the product has been under development for over a year.
The new credit card will be added alongside investment products from JPMorgan&#8217;s digital wealth manager, Nutmeg, on its U.K. retail app, the report noted.
Notably, Nutmeg is the U.K.&#8217;s first and now largest digital wealth manager and serves over 200,000 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/product/invest-with-nutmeg/" rel="noreferrer noopener">customers</a>, per the company&#8217;s website.
In July, the bank&nbsp;warned its 86 million customers to prepare for potential <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/07/39645336/largest-consumer-bank-chase-hints-increased-cost-to-consumers-for-everyday-banking-services" rel="noreferrer noopener">new charges on their bank accounts</a>.
This week, as per a report, JPMorgan is reportedly in talks with Apple about taking over its credit card program. The discussions began earlier this year <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40907844/jpmorgan-in-talks-to-take-over-apple-credit-card-what-investors-need-to-know" rel="noreferrer noopener">and have advanced in recent weeks</a>.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Patent At The Heart Of The Case</h3>
According to Kiyoshi Kurihara, a Japanese patent attorney, the patent in question revolves around the game's monster-catching mechanic.

Speaking to Yahoo Japan (<a href="https://automaton-media.com/en/news/whats-the-killer-patent-nintendo-is-suing-palworld-for-japanese-patent-attorney-offers-in-depth-analysis/">translated</a> by Automaton), Kurihara pointed to a "killer patent" that may be difficult to avoid for any game attempting to mirror the gameplay of Pokémon. 
The divisional patent (Patent No. 7545191) describes a process in which the player aims a capture item at a character on the field, releases it based on their input, and determines if the capture succeeds, causing the monster to become the player's property.
&#8220;It seems like it would be hard to avoid if you want to make a Pokémon-like game, and it's easy to infringe if you're not careful,&#8221; Kurihara explained.
Since the indie game's release, people have compared Palworld's "Pals" to Pokémon, but the lawsuit focuses on patents rather than copyright infringement.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Legal Strategy In Motion</h3>
Kurihara suspects Nintendo strategically planned the timing of its lawsuit. Authorities approved the four divisional patents in August, months after Palworld&#8217;s January release.
This delay might explain why Nintendo waited to announce its lawsuit, giving it the legal grounds to pursue Pocketpair after solidifying the patent claims.
The lawsuit&#8217;s impact on Palworld&#8217;s availability on platforms like Steam and Xbox remains uncertain. Nintendo's patents focus on the catching mechanics central to Pokémon. This could compel Pocketpair to alter its game or even remove key features.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What's Next For Palworld?</h3>
At its peak, Palworld shattered concurrent player records and saw massive sales. It reportedly earned so much that Pocketpair struggled to manage the influx of profits.
The developer moved quickly to capitalize on this success. It even formed a new company, Palworld Entertainment, in partnership with Sony Group Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SONY#NYSE">SONY</a>) to further develop the brand.
Speculation is already swirling that Palworld will be making its way to PlayStation. Rumors suggest an announcement is imminent at the Tokyo Game Show, set to run from Sept. 26-29.

Novo Nordisk shares also traded down roughly 5.5%
Both companies are developing drugs that target the CB1 receptor, a critical part of the&nbsp;endocannabinoid system, which regulates appetite and metabolism. Corbus's experimental drug, CRB-913, belongs to the same class as monlunabant. 
Despite <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/insights/options/24/09/40940229/spotlight-on-novo-nordisk-analyzing-the-surge-in-options-activity">Novo Nordisk</a>'s announcement of results on weight-loss outcomes, investors appear to be concerned about the actual outcome of the trials.
Monlunabant, the drug tested by Novo Nordisk, acts on the same receptors as cannabis-related compounds.
It is a synthetic small molecule designed to block the CB1 receptor, which plays a key role in appetite regulation. The <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/22/07/28272841/the-endocannabinoid-system-101-the-basics-made-easy">endocannabinoid system</a>, which is naturally activated by cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, like THC, is the biological target of both Novo's monlunabant and Corbus's CRB-913.

<li>Limited Additional Benefits at Higher Doses: The trial indicated that&nbsp;limited additional weight loss&nbsp;was seen at higher doses of monlunabant, which might signal diminishing returns for increased dosages. This could raise questions about the drug&#8217;s scalability and effectiveness at higher or sustained dosages, casting doubt on its ability to compete with other obesity treatments that offer clearer dose-response benefits​.</li>
<li>Investor Expectations: Given Novo Nordisk's strong position in the obesity treatment market (notably with its blockbuster drug Wegovy), expectations for new pipeline drugs like monlunabant may have been exceedingly high.</li>
<li>Competition and Future Trials: While Novo has committed to advancing monlunabant into a larger phase 2b trial in 2025, this indicates that&nbsp;more work is needed to refine dosing&nbsp;and better understand the safety profile. The need for further trials may prolong investor uncertainty, particularly when competitors (like Corbus Pharmaceuticals) are also developing drugs targeting the same CB1 receptor pathway​</li>

Galmed Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLMD#NASDAQ">GLMD</a>): The biopharmaceutical company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40941193/galmed-pharmaceuticals-stock-is-soaring-thursday-heres-why">saw shares soar </a>during the week after an announcement on drug development activities. Galmed plans to add drug developments that target cardiac fibrosis and colorectal and hepatic cancers. The company will release data from the studies during the fourth quarter.
"The conditions Galmed plans to focus upon in the coming years are major public health problems impacting millions of people worldwide and posing huge financial burden on health providers," Galmed CEO Allen Baharaff said.
Large interest in Galmed saw shares halted several times during the trading week. Helping with volatility in the biopharmaceutical company is the low-float of the stock with around 625,000 shares available according to Benzinga Pro. The company's earnings report will show investors and analysts whether revenue growth and AI platform demand are continuing to strengthen. The company saw subscription revenue up 23% year-over-year in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/07/39944577/servicenow-q2-earnings-revenue-beat-eps-beat-servicenow-intends-to-reinvent-every-workflow-in-every">the second quarter </a>and said it was helping meet demand from CEOs looking for new growth as ServiceNow reinvents "every workflow, in every company, in every industry with GenAI at the core."
ServiceNow shares are up 4% over the last five days and up 34% year-to-date.
