BARRIE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 30, 2010) -

Attention Lifestyle, Family, Health and Travel Editors

Tender Canada, maker of Canada's #1 selling insect bite and sting treatment AfterBite(R) -- The Itch Eraser(R), today announced a major initiative designed to get Canadian families into the great outdoors and enjoying an active lifestyle this spring and summer.

On May 1, Tender Canada will launch the AfterBite(R) 'Erase the Itch & Win' Summer Photo Contest. The top prize will see Tender award a lucky family or group of four a free vacation to New Hampshire's picturesque White Mountains region, the same place where the company created AfterBite(R) 35 years ago. Tender is offering the vacation package through a special partnership with the regional tourism office the White Mountains Attractions Association. Secondary prizes will include free passes to local attractions, as well as survival packs, first aid kits and other gear designed to help consumers enjoy the outdoors safely, courtesy of Tender's outdoor division Adventure(R) Medical Kits (AMK).

To enter the AfterBite(R) 'Erase the Itch & Win' Summer Photo contest, consumers need to post a photo that captures their favorite family moment in the outdoors to www.afterbite.ca. On the same site, people will be encouraged to vote on which photos they like the most. Winners will be decided by the photos that receive the most positive votes.

"With recent studies showing a rise in the obesity rates of young Canadian children, it's our hope that the AfterBite Photo Contest will help motivate Canadian parents to get their families active in the outdoors this summer, while also keeping them mindful about outdoor safety when it comes to treating insect bites and stings,"(i) said Tender Canada's VP of Sales Paul Crouch.

An essential fixture of the Canadian cottage, campsite and backyard, Tender's AfterBite(R) includes a range of topical treatments designed to erase the itching and pain that accompanies insect bites and stings. All AfterBite(R) products contain special ingredients that directly attack the bite or sting area, providing sustained relief from itching and swelling while simultaneously moisturizing the skin and preventing infection. Along with the original ammonia-based AfterBite(R), Tender offers AfterBite(R) Kids -- a cream formula consisting of baking soda, tea tree oil and vitamin E, which provides children with gentle sting-free relief from the pain and swelling caused by insect bites. For adults, there's AfterBite(R) Outdoor. A powerful yet soothing gel formula containing baking soda, ammonia and tea tree oil, Outdoor is the go-to choice for the most aggressive bites and stings. Both AfterBite(R) and AfterBite(R) Kids are Natural Health products licensed by Health Canada.(ii)

Tender Canada will support the AfterBite(R) photo contest through targeted online ads, public relations, as well as POP materials in key retailers. Tender will announce the winners to the AfterBite(R) Photo contest when the promotion concludes July 31. Full contest details can be obtained at www.afterbite.ca.
