Vancouver, B.C. / ACCESSWIRE / October 9, 2014 / SecureCom(TM) Mobile ("SecureCom(TM)", "the Company") has launched its new SecureCom(TM) Private Messaging App providing secure, end-to-end messaging and file exchange on BlackBerry devices including Blackberry models Z10, Z30, Z3, Q10 and Q5. The SecureCom(TM) Private Messaging App is now a free app available in the BlackBerry World Marketplace for BlackBerry devices (search "Securecom"). The expansion of the SecureCom(TM) Private Messaging App from Android OS to include Blackberry operating systems is part of the SecureCom's mandate to make its encryption software ubiquitous with all mainstream operating platforms and devices.

According to mobile device tracker Statista.com, there are approximately 11.8 million users on the BlackBerry platform, which has long been an enterprise level solution for businesses, especially those seeking secure internal text and data communications. It has a solid and loyal user base amongst businesses that continue to use the technology, largely for its simplicity and security features. This new app from SecureCom(TM) Mobile will provide BlackBerry users with a new level of independently secure, private communications, and is additive and complimentary to their platform's security.

SecureCom's new app differs from standard SMS text messaging (Short Message Service) technologies because it provides both text and data communications that are encrypted at the sender's device and decrypted at the receiver's device, where the end users control the encryption and decryption keys. The information traveling between two SecureCom(TM) Private Messaging App users, if intercepted while in transit, cannot be read or decoded by any other party, including BlackBerry (aka Research In Motion) itself. The information contained inside each message is completely private and secure using SecureCom's system.

SecureCom's new Private Messaging App represents an important step towards a viable and secure alternative to email, which is inherently unsafe due to the Internet's email system design.

SecureCom's Private Messaging App allows the use of both telephone numbers and e-mail addresses as target destination names. In addition, SecureCom(TM) Private Messaging allows for sending a variety of file attachments with file sizes up to 5 MB1, which are also securely encrypted so that only the intended recipients can read them. Support for additional encrypted file attachment types is expected to be added in future releases to provide as much functionality as required by the mainstream marketplace.

SecureCom(TM) apps operate over existing carrier networks without added fees. SecureCom(TM) Mobile enabled devices require no special programming by the user and come ready-to-run. Future operating systems to be introduced soon include iOS and Windows Mobile platforms to provide the widest base of operational installs on the world's leading mobile operating systems. In addition, computer, tablet, and other hardware install support is planned for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux OS platforms to allow encrypted communications on a large base of equipment and operating systems.
