Pacific Life Insurance Company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James T. Morris recently announced seventeen officer promotions. The following promotions will be effective April 1, 2012.
T. Anthony “Tony” Premer to senior vice president, Real Estate
Finance, Real Estate Division
Mr. Premer joined Pacific
Life in 1993 as a senior real estate analyst. He progressed through a
variety of roles with increasing responsibility and in 2000 was promoted
to vice president, Real Estate Finance. As senior vice president, he
will continue to oversee Pacific Life's commercial real estate debt
investment portfolio totaling more than $10 billion. Pacific Life's debt
investments cover a wide array of property types including office,
retail, industrial, apartments, hotels, resorts, and golf courses. A
resident of Newport Beach, Mr. Premer received his bachelor's degree in
business administration from California State University, Fullerton.
Kevin Roddy, FLMI, to senior vice president, Finance, Life
Insurance Division
A resident of Coto de Caza, Mr. Roddy
joined Pacific Life in 2008 as assistant vice president, Financial
Reporting and Projects in the Life Insurance Division. He was promoted
to vice president of Finance in 2009 and oversees financial, actuarial,
reinsurance, and compliance issues. In addition, he develops financial
strategies to support the Life Insurance Division's short- and long-term
profit objectives, while adhering to corporate capital requirements and
enterprise risk management goals. As senior vice president, Finance, Mr.
Roddy will continue to direct the financial, actuarial, reinsurance, and
compliance areas within his division. Mr. Roddy received his bachelor's
degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.
Thomas “Tom” Bilello to vice president, Compliance, Life Insurance
Division
Mr. Bilello, a resident of Tustin, joined Pacific
Life in 1994 as an advanced design consultant in the Life Insurance
Division. He moved to the compliance area in 1996 and progressed to the
role of assistant vice president, Compliance, in 2000. Since that time,
his responsibilities have included advising management on legal and
compliance matters and serving as his division's compliance officer. As
vice president, Mr. Bilello will manage the Life Insurance Division's
Compliance Department, including state product filing, tax compliance,
and state sales materials review, and will serve as the division's
liaison to the Corporate Law and Compliance departments. Mr. Bilello
received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of
California, Los Angeles, a master's degree in English from the
University of California, Irvine, and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law
School.
Bernard “Barney” Dougherty to vice president, Portfolio
Management, Corporate Division
Mr. Dougherty joined Pacific
Life in 1990 and has progressed through a series of positions of
increasing responsibility, becoming an investment manager in 2000 and
assistant vice president, Private Placement, in 2001. He later moved to
assistant vice president, Portfolio Management, in 2005. As vice
president, his role will expand to include management and direction of
Pacific Life's trading room, as well as formulating and executing plans
for the bond portfolio designed to achieve strategic objectives. Mr.
Dougherty has a bachelor's degree in business administration from
Montana State University, and is a resident of Irvine.
Tennyson Oyler to vice president, Brand Management and Public
Affairs, Corporate Division
A resident of Irvine, Mr. Oyler
joined Pacific Life in 2002 as a public affairs analyst for the
Corporate Division. He has since held a variety of roles of increasing
responsibility prior to being promoted in 2008 to assistant vice
president, Public Affairs with responsibility for management of the
company's public relations and media relations activities, including
sponsorships and community relations. Mr. Oyler is also increasingly
involved in the brand management and advertising functions of Pacific
Life. He received his bachelor's degree in international studies from
Brigham Young University and his Master of Business Administration from
the University of California, Irvine.
Jason Rosiak to vice president and senior managing director,
Pacific Asset Management
Mr. Rosiak joined the Pacific
Asset Management (PAM) subsidiary of Pacific Life in 2007 as senior
managing director and was promoted to assistant vice president and
senior managing director in 2008. He has the responsibility for
overseeing Pacific Asset Management's trading and portfolio management
activities, with investment strategies focused on bank loans, high yield
bonds, investment grade bonds, and cash management. In his new role as
vice president and senior managing director, Mr. Rosiak will continue
providing leadership and direction for PAM in an expanded capacity. Mr.
Rosiak received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University
of California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Business Administration from
the University of Southern California.
Alice Terlecky, FLMI, ACS, AIAA, to vice president, Client
Services, Life Insurance Division
Ms. Terlecky, a resident
of San Clemente, joined Pacific Life in 1995 as a training specialist,
responsible for the orientation and training of employees in new
business and customer service areas. In 2003, she assumed the role of
director of New Business and was promoted to assistant vice president,
in 2006. In her current role, she is responsible for directing the
administrative areas and ensuring effective customer service within the
New Business organization. As vice president, she will be responsible
for the overall management and direction of all Client Services
Operations within the Life Insurance Division including Customer
Service, Inforce Administration, Customer Relations, and Claims. Ms.
Terlecky has a bachelor's degree in French from the University of
California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Business Administration, with a
specialty in International Management, from the American Graduate School
of International Management.
Keith Werschke, FSA, MAAA, to vice president, Aggregate Risk
Management, Corporate Division
Mr. Werschke joined Pacific
Life in 1998 as an actuarial consultant for the Life Insurance Division.
He has since held a variety of actuarial and asset/liability management
roles of increasing responsibility prior to being promoted to assistant
vice president, Actuarial, in 2006. Since 2008, he has been the
assistant vice president, Enterprise Risk Management, responsible for
managing the processes that provide consistent, high quality risk
measures for Pacific Life's divisions and subsidiaries. As vice
president, he will continue to play a key role in ensuring the
investments purchased, products written, and risk management strategies
are consistent throughout Pacific Life. Mr. Werschke has a bachelor's
degree in mathematics from California State Polytechnic University,
Pomona, and he currently resides in Laguna Hills.
Pam Askins to assistant vice president, Information Technology and
Strategic Planning, Life Insurance Division
A resident of
Villa Park, Ms. Askins joined Pacific Life in 2003 as a director of
Application Development in the Life Insurance Division and was
accountable for managing various teams over the years including the
Administrative Systems, Workflow, and Document Center application teams.
In 2011, Ms. Askins assumed day-to-day leadership responsibilities for
developing capabilities focused on increasing sales within the emerging
affluent marketplace. As assistant vice president, Ms. Askins will
expand upon her current leadership responsibilities managing both
business initiatives and technology projects. She has a bachelor's
degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University.
Ben Flores, FSA, MAAA, to assistant vice president, Valuation and
Product Reporting, Life Insurance Division
Mr. Flores, a
resident of Aliso Viejo, joined Pacific Life in 2008 as director, GAAP
Valuation, in the Life Insurance Division. He is responsible for all
actuarial valuation activities and for directing and developing a team
in the preparation and review of various actuarial, reporting, and
analysis work products. As assistant vice president, Mr. Flores will
continue to oversee all quarterly and annual GAAP actuarial activities
and will expand his role in strategy to encompass all areas of valuation
and product reporting for the Life Insurance Division. He has a
bachelor's degree in probability and statistics from the University of
California, Santa Barbara.
Doug Jackson to assistant vice president, Product Management and
Sales Support, Retirement Solutions Division
Mr. Jackson
joined Pacific Life in 2009 as a field vice president, Fixed Annuities
Sales and Development, in the Retirement Solutions Division. He
transitioned to field vice president, Sales Development, in 2010 and
broadened his responsibilities to include mutual funds. As assistant
vice president, Product Management and Sales Support, Mr. Jackson will
provide sales management with direction and guidance relating to retail
strategy and will continue to provide his expertise on product sales and
market distribution for annuities and mutual funds. A resident of Coto
de Caza, Mr. Jackson has a bachelor's degree in business administration
from the University of Southern California.
Chin Kim, CFA, to assistant vice president, Advanced Marketing,
Retirement Solutions Division
Mr. Kim joined Pacific Life
in 1998 as an advanced marketing representative in the Retirement
Solutions Division. He has received several promotions since that time
and is presently responsible for managing all aspects of the Advanced
Marketing Department. This includes overseeing the creation of marketing
materials and marketing plans, promoting Advanced Marketing concepts and
strategies to clients, and managing and developing the Advanced
Marketing team. As assistant vice president, Mr. Kim will continue to
conduct research and develop marketing plans for line-of-business
initiatives. He received his bachelor's degree in history from the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Master of Business
Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He
is a resident of Rancho Santa Margarita.
Joseph “JG” Lallande to assistant vice president, Counsel,
Corporate Division
A resident of Newport Beach, Mr.
Lallande joined Pacific Life in 2010 as an attorney consultant for the
Corporate Division. He has become a valuable member of the team,
providing legal services to internal clients and Pacific Life Fund
Advisors. He has been instrumental in recommending cost effective legal
resources and helping to establish a new subsidiary of Pacific Life,
Pacific Global Advisors. As assistant vice president, Mr. Lallande will
continue to provide legal support and will increase his accountabilities
and reach across Pacific Life's divisions and subsidiaries. He has a
bachelor's degree in political science from the University of
California, Davis, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law
Center.
Liam Monaghan, FSA, FIA, MAAA, to assistant vice president,
Variable Annuity Product Actuary, Retirement Solutions Division
Mr.
Monaghan joined Pacific Life in 2010 as an actuarial consultant for the
Retirement Solutions Division. He became an actuarial director within
six months where accountabilities included establishing variable annuity
product pricing and analysis procedures that facilitated rapid product
development. As assistant vice president, Mr. Monaghan will provide
strategic and tactical actuarial leadership for the variable annuity
product line and design new products that meet the needs of key
distribution partners, producers, and consumers. A resident of Manhattan
Beach, Mr. Monaghan has a bachelor's degree in actuarial science from
the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Brian Robertson, CFA, to assistant vice president and managing
director, Pacific Asset Management
Mr. Robertson, a
resident of Irvine, joined Pacific Life in 2000 as a customer services
representative in the Retirement Solutions Division. In 2003, he moved
to the Securities area in the Investment Management area as an analyst
and was promoted several times. He later joined Pacific Asset Management
in 2008 as manager, and is currently director of Portfolio Management.
In this role, he is responsible for managing multiple portfolios to
maximize total return performance. As assistant vice president, Mr.
Robertson will continue to articulate the investment outlook and
evaluate relative security value in both primary and secondary markets.
Mr. Robertson has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University
of Michigan.
Kevin Steiner, CFA, to assistant vice president, Mutual Funds
Compliance, Corporate Division
Mr. Steiner joined Pacific
Life in 2002 as a senior variable product analyst in the Corporate Law
Department. In his current position of director of Mutual Funds
Compliance, he is responsible for overseeing the securities trading
activity of outside fund managers and managing the day-to-day compliance
and operational matters of Pacific Select Fund and Pacific Life
Funds. As assistant vice president, Mr. Steiner will assume more
responsibilities and will be the point person for overseeing the
effectiveness of the Funds' trading activity. A resident of Huntington
Beach, Mr. Steiner has a bachelor's degree in finance and a Master of
Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Sherri Wiseman, CMP, to assistant vice president, Meeting and
Event Marketing, Life Insurance Division
A resident of
Laguna Niguel, Ms. Wiseman joined Pacific Life in 2000 as a senior
meeting planner in the Life Insurance Division. She steadily progressed
in her role with increasing responsibilities, becoming the director of
Meeting and Event Marketing in 2007. She has been responsible for all
internal and external meetings for the Life Insurance Division, as well
as the management of some of the Corporate Division's off-site meetings.
As assistant vice president, Ms. Wiseman will continue to support her
division's meeting and event marketing needs. Ms. Wiseman has bachelor's
degrees in art and communications from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
