Wilmot H. Kidd IV Elected to the Board of Directors of Central Securities Corporation

Central Securities Corporation (NYSE American:CET), a closed-end investment company, announced that Wilmot H. Kidd IV has been elected to the Board of Directors. Mr. Kidd's election brings the total number of Central Securities directors to eight.

Mr. Kidd, 38, is an independent photographer, cinematographer and film producer. Certain of his works elaborate on the architectural documentary photography tradition and have been influenced by his experience with cinema and literature. They have been exhibited at Harvard's Graduate School of Design and during his residency at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn. Mr. Kidd's portrait photography has appeared in various publications including Vanity Fair.

Mr. Kidd graduated from Princeton University with an A.B in Philosophy. He is the son of the Corporation's Chairman and President, Wilmot H. Kidd III. His election is part of the Board of Directors' long-term succession planning.
