DuPont™ Corian® Helps Light Up Times Square at the NYCxDesign Design Pavilion™ May 18-22

Two Stunning Displays of Color and Light Add to Citywide Celebration

DuPont™ Corian® brings a new sense of discovery to Times Square May 18-22 with two experiential exhibitions destined to be focal points of the Design Pavilion™ during NYCxDesign, the city's five-day cultural event, bringing design and innovation directly to the people of New York. Media, the design community and the public are invited to explore the installations on the block of Times Square between 42nd & 43rd Street and between Broadway and 7th Avenue.

Corian® Cameo No. 3, created by ZGF Architects, represents the intersection of music, touch, light and social interaction, where sound exploration becomes the genesis of art in a new and interactive way. The piece transforms Corian® into a soft and atmospheric sculpture that allows a play of LED-driven light to glow through, while a multi-zoned sound system plays music and sound physically through the piece via three touch-activated podiums so that visitors can conduct their own personal experiences by way of music and light. The unforgettable sensory exploration was designed in collaboration with creative and technology firms Piano Push Play, dotdotdash and Uncorked Studios. Cameo No.3's creative team was united by the notion of blending advanced materials and technology with nature, warmth and human touch — and making their work accessible to all.

The Corian® Movement Bar serves as a public gathering place envisioned by the award-winning human-centered design and innovation studio of Birsel+Seck, who interpreted what movement means in the lively, vertical, highly trafficked, phenomenal public space of Times Square. Birsel+Seck have rethought the quintessential "bar" as a gathering place, a place to pause, people-watch, rest and take it all in, using Corian® as expression. The exhibit features 2017 aesthetics, Corian® Neutral Concrete & Carbon Concrete as well as Zodiaq® Portoro.

• 11:00AM ET: Material Trends 2017+: A Global Panel Discussion moderated by Marc Kushner, Architizer (Register)

Join a global collection of thought leaders in design, as these luminaries discuss current trends in material selection, why materials are chosen and how they impact design. The panel will be moderated by Marc Kushner of Architizer and feature Ginger Gilden (IA Interior Architects), Barry Richards (The Rockwell Group), Guilherme Torres (Studio Guilherme Torres), Asaf Gottesman (Gottesman–Szmelcman Architecture), Eiri Ota and Irene Gardpoit (Uufie). The panelists will bring views from the U.S., Brazil, Europe, Japan and Canada. Location: Anita's Way, Performing Arts Theater in Times Square, 135 W. 42nd St.

• 12:00PM: Private Reception at the Corian® Movement Bar

Following the panel discussion, the reception with brunch-style food will be located at the Corian® Movement Bar on the block of Times Square between 42nd & 43rd Street and between Broadway and 7th Ave.
