Tutor Perini Corporation TPC, a leading civil, building and specialty construction company, today announced that its subsidiary, Tutor Perini Building Corp., has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $42.7 million by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners for the Terminal 4 Federal Inspection Services (FIS) Facility Task 2B and 3 Expansion project at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The project consists of the renovation and expansion of existing areas of the FIS at Terminal 4, including construction of the FIS Phase 2B Bag Hall expansion, the Task 3 multi-phased demolition and renovation of the Automated Passport Control Hall, the Primary Hall and the Secondary Inspection Hall, FIS control rooms, staff offices, equipment rooms, storage, interview rooms, kennel facilities and restrooms. Tutor Perini Building Corp. has enjoyed a successful history of work on various other projects at FLL over the past 30 years, including the Terminal 4 Western Expansion, the original Terminal 4 FIS facility, a runway expansion and elevation, and various concourse, parking garage and rental car facility projects.
Work is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018 with substantial completion anticipated in late 2019. The contract value has been included in the Company's third quarter 2018 backlog.
