TransAct to Debut Enterprise-Class Restaurant Management Solution, the All-New AccuDate XL2e, at the National Restaurant Association Show 2018

New AccuDate XL2e™ to Launch with the TransAct Enterprise Management System ("TEMS") to Create the Back-of-House Restaurant Management Solution of Choice for Multi-Unit Restaurant Operators

Plays Mission Critical Role when Paired with Inventory and Production Management Systems, Thermometers and Temperature Probes, Timers, and Cloud-Based Labeling Solutions from Key Technology Partners

TransAct® Technologies Incorporated TACT ("TransAct" or "the Company"), a global leader in software-driven technology and printing solutions for high-growth markets, announced today that the Company will debut its new AccuDate™ XL2e restaurant management terminal featuring the all-new TransAct Enterprise Management System ("TEMS") at the National Restaurant Association ("NRA") Show 2018, to be held on May 19-22, 2018 at McCormick Place (Booth #6057) in Chicago, IL. By leveraging the enterprise-class TEMS software suite, the new AccuDate XL2e can be operated by restaurant operations teams and corporate IT departments as a true enterprise platform by providing a secure networked environment. The AccuDate XL2e is also positioned to benefit from the push towards the Internet of Things ("IoT") in restaurants, where the use of connected IoT devices will dramatically improve food safety labeling accuracy, food production and inventory management, HAACP-compliant temperature monitoring and help automate the operation of the restaurant back-of-house.

The all-new AccuDate XL2e from TransAct Technologies is a rugged, splash resistant, Android-based terminal designed to function reliably in harsh kitchen environments. It features an easy-to-read 9.7-inch LCD touch screen, a full range of built-in connectivity options (including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB), and two easy-to-clean internal TransAct high speed thermal label printers that offer a straight paper path for simple loading.

Making the AccuDate XL2e truly enterprise-class is the TransAct Enterprise Management System, a smart software suite that brings to the platform an exciting array of features and functions, including TransAct TrueLock™ and the TransAct SmartPanel™. The all-new TransAct TrueLock™ allows IT teams to ensure that their AccuDate XL2e terminals run only approved apps and functions, thus removing the security risk represented by unfettered employee access to browsers or other apps which have the potential to endanger corporate networks and customer data. At the same time, TEMS' mobile device management ("MDM") capabilities enable the remote management of AccuDate XL2e terminals from a central location. This facilitates pushing over-the-air operating system updates directly to the terminal and makes it easy to manage security updates and patches. Furthermore, a quick swipe of the AccuDate XL2e screen gives users full access to the TransAct SmartPanel™, a single interface where system settings and preferences are adjusted.

"When it comes to managing back-of-house operations, including food safety for restaurants and foodservice operators, TransAct listens to our customers to ensure that our solutions successfully integrate with their workflows and provide a seamless user experience that keeps food safety incidents to a minimum," said Bart C. Shuldman, Chairman and CEO of TransAct Technologies. "We have continually updated our AccuDate lineup to meet customers' ever-evolving needs for easy-to-use kitchen assistant solutions that can handle food safety labeling and information distribution and provide for the efficient management of back-of-house operations to help combat rising costs and lower profits. In addition, their operations and IT staffs are looking to ensure that deployed solutions meet the security demands of today's enterprise. As more companies establish their data and central system functions in the cloud, it is imperative that deployed technology and, most importantly, Internet of Things devices are fully locked down to prevent employees from accessing browsers or other apps that could endanger network security. With the debut of the AccuDate XL2e and TEMS, TransAct is providing users with the enterprise-class terminal solution they need.

"We believe that the AccuDate XL2e is the industry's premier solution for large-scale deployments of our revolutionary technology. While introducing new technology in the back-of-the-house can be daunting, the addition of TEMS will make it as easy as possible. With TEMS, customers deploying the AccuDate XL2e can put the terminal to work quickly with only a few simple steps while providing for the features most IoT devices lack, namely, the ability to remotely update the operating system or manage security updates and patches. Furthermore, a quick swipe of the AccuDate XL2e screen opens access to the TransAct SmartPanel™ where back-of-house staff can adjust system settings and preferences to their needs. Our sales and support teams are excited to work with current and future customers as they further refine their workflows and make the AccuDate family a critical component of their operations."

Visitors to the Company's booth at NRA 2018 will get a full demonstration of the combined AccuDate XL2e and TEMS solution as well as a preview of several new uses for the AccuDate XL2e in connection with partner technologies that will make the platform the centerpiece of food safety and back-of-house operations. These critical functions and capabilities include temperature monitoring, food production and inventory management, task lists and procedures, and the delivery of training materials directly to the kitchen.
