L3 Appoints Melanie Heitkamp as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

L3 Technologies LLL announced today that Melanie Heitkamp has been appointed as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective May 21.

Ms. Heitkamp will report to Christopher E. Kubasik, Chief Executive Officer and President, and will be responsible for all aspects of L3's human resources organization, including its recruiting and retention strategy, organizational transformation initiatives, core processes, Diversity & Inclusion, and employee engagement efforts. She succeeds Kevin L. Weiss, who has announced his plans to retire after supporting a smooth transition.

"Melanie brings a breadth of human resources and talent development expertise, which will help us advance our ongoing L3 3.0 initiatives and investments in human capital management," said Mr. Kubasik. "On behalf of the entire company, I thank Kevin for his dedication and leadership and wish him well in his retirement."

Ms. Heitkamp has more than 20 years of human resources and business experience, including leadership roles at Leidos, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Target Corporation. Prior to joining L3, she served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources – Defense & Intelligence Group at Leidos, where she led the group's M&A integration efforts and supported the company's cultural transformation, talent management and HR operating model redesign. Previously, she served as a Vice President of Human Resources within the Information Systems & Global Solutions business at Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Ms. Heitkamp holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College.
