Frontier is a Norwalk, CT-based company that provides communications services to residential, business, and wholesale customers in the United States.

Frontier has since disclosed that many of the acquired wireline operations included non-paying accounts. By February 2017, Frontier announced an $80 million net loss for the fourth quarter of 2016, largely due to these underperforming assets. These results were followed by a $75 million first quarter 2017 net loss, among other negative financial impacts. Frontier's stock trading price fell substantially with the announcement of these losses. Following these events, several securities class action lawsuits were filed against Frontier in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
