Now That Trump Has Won, Would Jamie Dimon Leave JPMorgan To Join Trump Administration?

According to a CNBC report, JPMorgan Chase & Co. JPM CEO Jamie Dimon could be cleaning out his Manhattan office for a new office in Washington D.C.

CNBC's sources have said President-elect Donald Trump and his team are eyeing Dimon to serve as treasury secretary, even though the executive said back in September he has no interest in accepting the job.

"I think this would probably be a sigh of relief for Wall Street to know that Dimon was under consideration or that he was on a list because it's a more mainstream candidate coming from a president-elect who of course has embraced less traditional types of ideas for both his own staff and a potential cabinet," CNBC's Kate Kelly said.

Other candidates the Trump campaign is believed to be targeting for treasury secretary include Steven Mnuchin who served as Trump's national finance chairman.

What About Other Positions?

According to Politico, the Trump campaign is also considering former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton for the role of secretary of state.

Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley and former Sen. Jim Talent are being considered for the role of secretary of defense.

Former mayor of New York City Ruddy Giuliani and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are in contention for the role as attorney general.

Oil executive Forrest Lucas is a top contender for interior secretary.

Billionaire investor Wilbur Ross and the former CEO of Nucor Corp Dan DiMicco along with former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are being considered for commerce secretary.
