Activision Blizzard Reports Record Q1 Results


Activision Blizzard, Inc.(NASDAQ: ATVI) reported record first quarter after the market closed Thursday.

  • Activision Blizzard Reports Q1 Adj. EPS $0.72, up from $0.58 in the same quarter last year
  • Sales came in at $1.726B, against $1.455B in the same quarter last year
  • Sees Q2 Adj. EPS ~$0.38 vs. $0.32 estimate, Sales $1.425B vs $1.19B estimate
  • Sees CY17 Adj. EPS $1.80 vs $1.95 estimate, Sales $6.1 Billion vs $6.43 Billion

"This quarter we delivered record revenues, earnings per share and cash flow, and over-performed guidance," CEO Bobby Kotick said. "Among the drivers of our results was Overwatch®, which now has over 30 million players globally. The Overwatch League™ is gaining momentum and we're excited to offer our community of players the best professional league experience. Destiny 2 and Call of Duty®: WWII are also coming later this year, and both reveals have been very well received by fans."

Shares of Activision Blizzard were down about 1 percent to $52.52 in the after-hours session.
