Wednesday's After-Hours Movers: Oracle, FedEx, Jabil, Pier 1 And More


Shares of FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX), which gained 2.85 percent on Wednesday and continued to surge in the after-hours session. The stock was up more than 4.7 percent after the bell rang. The company reported earnings of $2.58 per share on revenue of $12.453 billion, beating the Street's consensus estimate of $2.51 per share and $12.401 billion.

Another gainer Wednesday afternoon was Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL), up more than 1.25 percent. The smid cap electronic manufacturing services and solutions provider delivered first quarter fiscal 2016 earnings of $0.85 per share on sales of $5.208 billion, above the Street's consensus, which called for earnings of $0.80 per share on revenue of $5.189 billion, pretty much in line with the mid-point of management's guidance.

Also moving on its earnings report was Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL), up about 2.5 percent after hours. The tech giant was expected to deliver consensus earnings of $0.61 per share on revenue of $9.086 billion; it reported earnings of $0.63 per share on revenue of $9 billion. Notably, Cloud SAAS and PAAS revenues rose 34 percent in U.S. dollars, and about 39 percent in constant currency. Total revenue fell 6 percent in dollars but remained flat in constant currency.

Other stocks moving on their earnings calls on Wednesday afternoon included:

Pier 1 Imports Inc (NYSE: PIR), down almost 14 percent on a revenue miss.

It should be noted, however, that the last two companies beat the Street's consensus expectations in the earnings front.
