Watch These After-Hours Movers On Wednesday Morning

Let’s take a look at Tuesday’s after-hours movers.

After Earnings

Shares of Yum! Brands, Inc. YUM were down more than 1 percent after the bell, following the announcement of the company’s second quarter results.

Earnings came in at $0.69 per share, ahead of the Street’s consensus of $0.63 per share. Nonetheless, revenue of $3.105 billion fell short of expectations, which called for sales of at least $3.177 billion.

On the other hand, CSX Corporation CSX, which also reported earnings after the bell, was up more than 3 percent after hours. CSX beat earnings estimates (reported EPS of $0.56 versus the Street’s consensus of $0.53), but missed sales projections ($3.064 billion reported, compared to an expected revenue of at least $3.139).

Other stocks on the move in Tuesday’s after hours were:

Syngenta AG (ADR) SYT and Monsanto Company MON after news transcended about hedge fund billionaire John Paulson having started stake in the former, showing he supports Monsanto’s acquisition of Syngenta.

Finally, Celgene Corporation CELG rose more than 5 percent after announcing it will acquire Receptos Inc RCPT, also up more than 10 percent. Celgene will pay $232.00 per share in cash, or approximately $7.2 billion.
