Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

Wall Street expects Fastenal Company (NASDAQ: FAST) to report its Q3 earnings at $0.45 per share on revenue of $980.10 million. Fastenal shares rose 2.68% to $45.90 in after-hours trading.

Family Dollar Stores (NYSE: FDO) reported downbeat fourth-quarter earnings. The company is set to be acquired for $74.50 per share by Dollar Tree (NASDAQ: DLTR). Family Dollar shares fell 0.71% to $77.20 in the after-hours trading session.

Analysts expect Progressive (NYSE: PGR) to report its Q3 earnings at $0.44 per share on revenue of $4.70 billion. Progressive shares climbed 2.02% to $25.78 in after-hours trading.

Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC) said it is breaking into two companies. The company will separate its security and information management (IM) businesses. Symantec shares rose 0.26% to $23.50 in the after-hours trading session.

Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) lowered its sales forecast for the second quarter. Microchip Technology shares slipped 8.32% to $41.75 in the after-hours trading session.
