United Continental Holdings
UAL posted a profit in the fourth quarter.
United Continental posted a quarterly profit of $140 million, or $0.37 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $620 million, or $1.87 per share. Excluding one-time items, its adjusted earnings came in at $0.78 per share.
Its revenue climbed 7.2% to $9.33 billion. However, analysts were estimating a profit of $0.65 per share on revenue of $9.29 billion.
United Continental's passenger revenue per available seat mile rose 3.2%.
United Continental shares fell 0.77% to $48.80 in pre-market trading.
