Mediobanca Q1 Profit Rises 57%

Italian bank Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA reported a 57% rise in its first-quarter net profit. The bank's quarterly net profit surged to 171 million euros ($236.0 million), from EUR109 million, in the year-ago period. Its net fee and commission income declined to EUR84.4 million versus EUR103.8 million.
