AGL Energy Posts Surge In H1 Profit

reported an increase in first-half profit. AGL Energy's net profit for the six months jumped to 364.7 million Australian dollars (US$373 million). Its underlying net profit climbed 20% to A$279.4 million. AGL Energy shares closed at $15.57 yesterday.
