UPDATE: Huntington Q4 Profit Surges 32%

Huntington Bancshares

reported a 32% rise in its fourth-quarter earnings. Huntington's quarterly profit surged to $167.3 million, or $0.19 per share, versus $126.9 million, or $0.14 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 14% to $737.2 million, while net interest income rose 4.6%. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.17 per share on revenue of $703 million. Huntington's net interest margin rose to 3.45% from 3.38%. Huntington shares closed at $6.72 yesterday.
