Akzo Nobel Posts Q3 Net Loss

posted a net loss in the third quarter. Akzo Nobel posted a quarterly net loss of 2.36 billion euros ($3.1 billion), versus a year-ago net profit of EUR148 million. Its revenue rose 6% to EUR4.28 billion, while volumes fell 3%. Akzo Nobel's earnings before exceptional items and depreciation climbed 7% to EUR540 million. Akzo Nobel shares closed at $19.39 yesterday.
