Boston Beer Tops Street Estimates

Boston Beer Co.

released its fiscal first-quarter earnings results after the closing bell on Wednesday. The company reported net income of $7.5 million or $0.56 per share, compared to $4.0 million or $0.28 per share, in the year ago period. This came in ahead of analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.41. Net revenue in the quarter was up 11 per cent to $113.3 million from $102.3 million last year. This also came in ahead of Wall Street estimates of $112.74 million. Looking ahead, SAM reaffirmed its 2012 EPS projections of $4.20. This compares to analysts' current consensus EPS estimates of $4.14 for fiscal 2012.
