Vestas Posts Wider Q1 Loss

posted a wider-than-expected net loss for the first quarter 2012. Vestas posted a quarterly net loss of EUR162 million, versus a year-ago loss of EUR85 million. However, analysts were expecting a net loss of EUR58.7 million. Vestas' sales climbed 4.2% to EUR1.11 billion from EUR1.06 billion, versus analysts' estimates of EUR1.49 billion. Vestas shares closed at $2.96 yesterday.
