Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc.

announced today that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of 45 cents per common share for the fourth quarter of 2010. This reflects a dividend increase of approximately 29 percent. The dividend is payable on January 17, 2011 to shareholders of record on December 31, 2010.
