After the bell today, YAMANA GOLD
AUY
announced that its Board of Directors approved an increase to the annualized dividend to US$0.12 per share. This represents a 50% increase to the US$0.08 annual dividend announced last quarter and a 200% increase over the 2009 annualized dividend. The Board of Directors also declared a special dividend of US$0.01 per share. This special dividend will top up the previously declared third quarter dividend and is payable on November 26, 2010 to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 12, 2010. Yamana Gold Inc. is a Canada-based gold producer engaged in gold mining and related activities, including exploration, extraction, processing and reclamation. The company has significant properties involved in gold production, and other precious metal production, development, exploration and land positions throughout the Americas including Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico. In July 2009, Calibre Mining Corp. announced the purchase of an undivided 100% interest in the NEN Gold Copper Project from Yamana Gold Inc. The NEN Gold Copper Property is a district scale land package of 70,976 hectares of mining and exploration concessions.
