A Tesla Inc TSLA enthusiast Jeremy Judkins on Tuesday posted a video of what he captioned “leaked” Cybertruck crash test footage. The video, which has garnered more than a million views, had X users worried and concerned.
What Happened: The video shows the Cybertruck seemingly hitting a wall at different speeds. At the end of the video, the Cybertruck charges at the wall at a whopping 140 mph, only to be shattered.
Though Judkins confirmed in another post that the video is not actual crash test footage and only a computer-generated video, X users flocked to the video with concerns, and the video garnered about 3,000 likes and 525 retweets.
“It's meant to be satire. LISTEN TO ME COMMUNITY NOTES,” Judkins wrote in another post.
Why It Matters: This is not the first time that people have been fooled by a Cybertruck crash test video. On April Fools’ Day earlier this year, Tesla itself shared a video captioned Cybertruck crash test.
The clip showed a Cybertruck whizzing past a group of awestruck spectators gaping at it from behind windows. However, the vehicle eventually stops short of crashing against the obstruction.
Tesla claims the Cybertruck to be “nearly impenetrable” with CEO Elon Musk previously terming it "an armored personnel carrier from the future." Though the door panels are bulletproof to almost all subsonic projectiles, the glass on the vehicle is not, he added.
