Marjorie Taylor Greene Backs Tucker Carlson For Donald Trump's Running Mate In 2024: 'There's No One Better'

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) voiced her support for ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson as Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election.

What Happened: The GOP Georgia representative Greene responded affirmatively to a tweet by conservative activist Charlie Kirk advocating for a Trump-Carlson ticket.

“Donald Trump says he’s open to Tucker Carlson as a 2024 running mate. At first, it sounds a little loopy. But upon further thought… Besides Trump himself, nobody enjoys the base’s trust the way Tucker Carlson does,” Kirk wrote on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Like Trump, he thrives under attack and under pressure. He’s been targeted and smeared endlessly for seven years, but he’s never cracked, never had a breakdown. He’s only become more popular. Despite years of digging, his personal life is spotless,” Kirk added.

Greene, in response to Kirk’s long social media post, said, “I agree with you Charlie, there’s no one better than Tucker Carlson!!”

Why It Matters: The idea of a Trump-Carlson alliance gained traction after Trump, the leading contender for the Republican nomination, stated on a conservative radio show that he would consider partnering with the 54-year-old commentator.

Carlson, however, had previously dismissed rumors of running for president in July 2022, expressing contentment with his job at Fox News and no political ambitions. Despite this, less than a year later, the network severed ties with him.

It’s worth noting that Carlson has since shown support for Trump, interviewing him for a social media video in August.
