If Trump Has A Change Of Heart, He Won't Have To Go Very Far To Attend The Third Debate. GOP Is Bringing It To Miami In November

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has confirmed that the third GOP primary debate will take place in Miami. The exact details of the event, including the date, venue, moderators, and qualification rules, are yet to be announced.

What Happened: As reported by POLITICO, CNN was the first to disclose the location of the third debate, suggesting an “early November” timeline.

Donald Trump, the primary frontrunner, sidestepped the first debate and is not expected to show up for the second one either. If Trump changes his mind and decides to attend the third debate, the Miami location would be conveniently close to his Mar-a-Lago residence.

The RNC has not yet released any details about the third debate. The first debate saw the participation of eight candidates, with seven, including Trump, qualifying for the second debate. The qualifications for the second debate required a minimum of 3 percent support in certain RNC-approved polls and at least 50,000 unique individual donors. Following the tradition, the RNC is likely to raise the bar for each subsequent debate, which could affect the candidates’ participation in the third debate.

Why It Matters: GOP debates have been making headlines, especially with Trump’s absence. As reported earlier, Trump’s allies hinted that he might not attend the second debate. The former President also missed the first debate which, which saw eight GOP candidates vying for attention.

Trump’s absence has led to some interesting dynamics within the GOP. Chris Christie, former Governor of New Jersey, has promised to follow Trump around the country if the latter continues to avoid debates. Christie has also blamed Trump’s ‘swamp’ for the negative reactions he faced at the first GOP debate.

With the third debate confirmed for Miami, all eyes are now on the RNC for further details and on Trump for his decision to participate or not.

Florida is also the home turf for Ron DeSantis, who is the governor of the state and is trailing Trump currently in the polls.
