Pro-Kyiv Russians Urge Wagner Group For Vengeance After Leaders' Tragic Deaths: 'Let's End The Bloody Meat Grinder'

Pro-Ukraine Russian militants have called upon the Wagner Group to join them in revenge for their leader’s death.

What Happened: These Russian militants, fighting for Ukraine, have asked the Wagner Group to switch allegiances and assist them in avenging the deaths of Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin and their commander Dmitry Utkin, Reuters reported.

“You are facing a serious choice now – you can stand in a stall of Russia’s defense ministry and serve as watchdogs for executors of your commanders or take revenge,” said Denis Kapustin, commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC), in a video address published late Thursday.

“To take revenge you need to switch to Ukraine’s side.”

“Let’s end the bloody meat grinder of the special military operation.”

Confirmations from Russian air authorities reveal that Prigozhin, Utkin, and eight other individuals were aboard a private plane that crashed north of Moscow, leaving no survivors. The plane crash took place exactly two months after Prigozhin and his Wagner mercenaries mutinied against Russian military commanders. They seized control of Rostov, a southern city, and advanced towards Moscow before retreating 200 kilometers from the capital.

Why It Matters: Even though Russia has initiated an investigation into the crash, the prevalent belief is that Prigozhin was assassinated in retribution for the mutiny.

Following a day of silence, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his “sincere condolences” to the families of the deceased and acknowledged Prigozhin as a “talented businessman.”

The RVC, siding with Ukraine, was formed a year ago by Kapustin, a far-right Russian national. The group has claimed responsibility for numerous military attacks on Russian border regions.

“After that, we will march to Moscow and this time we will not stop 200 kilometers before the Moscow ring road but go to the end,” Kapustin declared in his address.
