'Threads Is Just Better': Musk's Own Employees Are Signing Up For Zuckerberg's Twitter Clone

Elon Musk has another reason to be riled up about Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter clone Threads – his employees are signing up for Meta Platforms Inc.'s META latest app. While some are doing it to sniff the competition, others think Threads is better than Twitter.

What Happened: Dozens of existing Twitter employees have been spotted on Threads, and some find it to be a better app than Twitter even though it is a clone, according to The Daily Beast.

The analysis states that 31 Twitter employees were found using Threads, out of a random sample of 133 employees. The report cites an unnamed Threads user who said, "I’m going to get fired for this, but I work at Twitter right now and have never really used it. Threads is just better."

Benzinga was not able to independently verify this – a search for this post on Threads did not return any results. It is possible that the poster has a private account now, or that they may have deleted the post itself.

It added that some of these Twitter employees were also found making fun of Musk, with one of them saying, "somebody check up on elon. he's not taking this well."

Musk Goes Unhinged As Threads Crosses 100M Users

Musk has not taken well to the exploding popularity of Threads, which became the fastest app to cross the 100 million users milestone. In a tweet, he insulted Zuckerberg by calling him a "cuck".

Prior to the launch of Threads, Musk taunted Zuckerberg, saying "Zuck my tongue" with a tongue emoji instead of the word. He also called Zuckerberg a "copy cat".

More recently, though, Musk tweeted that while competition is fine, cheating is not, reacting to a report of Twitter threatening to sue Meta for "systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation" of Twitter's intellectual property.
