Following MWC’s theme of “Velocity - Unleashing Tomorrow's Technology – Today”, Tuya established its showroom with the theme of "IoT Everything Now." The company highlighted its capabilities in communication connectivity and energy management, as well as its IoT Development Platform, which has enabled wide-ranging smart products. It also hosted the Tuya Day event on Wednesday, March 1st. The signature event, which the company has hosted at major global trade shows, featured some of the world’s leading telecom and tech brands and companies. Partner representatives shared insights on energy-saving efforts, chips, modules and smart IoT solutions. Alex Yang, Co-Founder and COO of Tuya, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Opportunities Driven by Vision - Creating Opportunities in a Connected Energy Transition.”

Tuya supports multiple mainstream communication protocols

Tuya’s compatibility with mainstream communication protocols in different industries and scenarios was a key topic at MWC. For example, in smart homes, Tuya supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, Sub-1GHz, NFC, UWB, and other protocols. In outdoor travel, Tuya supports GPRS, Wi-Sun, NB-IoT, LTE and others. On the ecosystem level, Tuya can enable partners’ products to connect with mainstream ecosystems such as Matter, Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Tuya can also help customers serve more scenarios through diversified communication protocols with smooth and stable connections. From supporting multiple communication protocols to building ecosystems, Tuya holds competitive advantages with ideal solutions for smart upgrades.

Tuya’s new Residential Solar & Energy Storage Solution enables precise energy management

At MWC, Tuya launched a Residential Solar & Energy Storage Solution. It has three key components: a data communication rod, a Tuya-enabled App, and an EMS management platform. It can help device manufacturers quickly connect energy storage devices to the cloud. It also provides homeowners with all-in-one energy data monitoring of solar power, storage and usage.

The Tuya-enabled data communication rod is equipped with dual modules of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE, which can adapt to the data communication and acquisition of most photovoltaic inverters, energy storage batteries and all-in-one power storage devices. It easily enables "plug and play". Combined with a Tuya-enabled energy storage device App control panel and an EMS management platform, homeowners and businesses can monitor energy storage systems in real time.

In addition, Tuya’s Cube Solution can help customers build their own IoT energy management platform based on customized demands. This solution supports deployment on public cloud servers or customers’ servers, which can greatly reduce costs.

Other highlights included SaaS offerings of Tuya Hospitality, Tuya Residential and Tuya Commercial Lighting & Building.

Tuya showcased IoT & smart technologies with wide-ranging Tuya-enabled products

Tuya also displayed the latest enabled smart products, including the Tuya-enabled Sharp Scooter EM-KS1, a Tuya-enabled smarty delivery box, Tuya-enabled smart hearing aid, which comes as over-the-counter (OTC) earphones, and more.

As an upgrade from traditional scooters, customers can use mobile phones to remotely lock, unlock and control the Tuya-enabled Sharp Scooter EM-KS1. Through the Tuya-enabled App, users can manage battery settings, detect faults and check mileage. The e-scooter is smaller, lighter than a regular bike and easily foldable. It can also act as a battery bank for mobile phones through its USB charging port.

The smart delivery box generated a lot of interest at MWC. Users can put it at the front door to securely receive packages. Enabled by the Tuya IoT Development Platform, users can lock and unlock the box and manage access authorization on the Tuya-enabled App. The box remains unlocked before a delivery arrives. The deliveryman can store the package inside and lock it. It then stays locked until opened via the App or with a pin code. As a notable function, the box is equipped with Ultraviolet-C lighting, which can disinfect packages.

Tuya-enabled OTC earphones are specially designed for people with mild and moderate hearing loss. They look like regular wireless earphones and can be fitted on the Tuya-enabled App. They can also provide multi-scenario auxiliary hearing algorithms and frequency-based gain, which can ensure a comfortable hearing experience even in a noisy setting.

Additionally, a number of Tuya-enabled earphones demonstrated how Tuya’s smart audio solution can allow manufacturers to quickly develop and deliver smart products to stand out in the retail market. The smart watches on display at Tuya’s booth provided a new concept in the industry by enabling voice-controlled virtual assistants.

The new solutions and capacities showcased at MWC reflected the company’s philosophy on how to drive the IoT industry’s development, as Tuya Co-Founder and COO Alex Yang said on Tuya Day. “As smart product adoption continues to grow, we noticed increasing opportunities for a range of industries to apply their existing competitive competencies when delivering IoT solutions. When considering not only the intelligence of the product but also the overall service offering, companies can innovate and transform individual products into localized and integrated service offerings that better address customers’ unmet needs. Now, Tuya can help operators build their own IoT platforms through its private cloud service, whereby operators can easily combine elements of Tuya’s portfolio of integrated solutions for energy-saving, security smart home, and many others, with their installation, delivery, and maintenance resources to transform them into new packaged services. For example, Tuya’s newly launched Residential Solar & Energy Storage Solution, which provides real-time visibility of the energy flow data across the full process of energy generation, storage, usage and charging, offers an opportunity for businesses, such as telecoms operators and energy companies, to drive consumer energy-efficiency. Furthermore, when combined with the local cellular connectivity capabilities of telecoms operators, Tuya can enable more businesses, such as those in fleet and logistics, to create a green and low-carbon comprehensive energy ecosystem," said Mr. Yang.
