Twitter will soon remove all legacy blue checkmarks. Elon Musk says the way they were given out was "corrupt and nonsensical." 

What Happened: Musk said legacy blue checkmarks will soon be a thing of the past. He was replying to a user who dubbed Twitter’s “may or may not be notable” message on legacy blue checkmarks “ruthless.”

The microblogging site will soon release a 'Grey' checkmark too for government and multilateral accounts.

Already verified accounts wouldn't lose the blue checkmark immediately unless they change their display name or profile photo. 

People can subscribe to the revamped Twitter Blue service by paying $8 per month through the web or $11 per month through Apple iOS products.
