Biden Dubs DeSantis Trump Incarnate: 'The Way He Denies...'

President Joe Biden took aim at Florida's Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday and compared him with former President Donald Trump.

What Happened: Biden made the comments at a fundraiser for Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist, reported The Wall Street Journal.

Biden said DeSantis was "Donald Trump incarnate," adding that he was not a good-faith Republican that he likes to work with, according to the journal.

"​​This guy doesn't fit any of the categories I talked about — the way he deals, the way he denies."

Why It Matters: Biden said "democracy is on the ballot" and it was "really important that a state the size of Florida … comes down on the right side of history," as per the report.

DeSantis is seen as a presidential frontrunner by some. Recently, it was reported that Trump had seen video clips of the Florida governor speaking at public events and had criticized him for copying his body language and movements.

Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk said in July that if DeSantis ran against Biden in 2024, the governor will "easily win" and that "he doesn't even need to campaign."
