#BoycottFedEx Movement Trending After Employees Encountered With Racist Customer Were Fired

A viral video of a standoff between two FedEx Corporation FDX employees and a customer, has led to a call for the boycott of the delivery and logistics company.

What Happened

Two FedEx employees Antonio and Felinzay were making deliveries to a house in Leesburg, Georgia on Wednesday, when they were confronted by a customer who allegedly cursed and threatened them.

Antonio provided the backstory, “All we did just delivered his package mind you he was in the house it was quick stop as soon we were leaving he ran out his house cursing and threatening us and we just apologized but he kept escalating the situation then kept saying he would whoop out black asses.”

The FedEx delivery workers then asked the customer’s wife to call the police, but the customer followed them and started recorded the workers, yelling “f**k y’all.”

When the police arrived the customer and the employees narrated their versions of the encounter and according to Antonio, the homeowner claimed the FedEx workers would’ve broken in while his wife was there.

Why It Matters

Antonio claims FedEx asked him to take down the video and then fired both delivery men. The video was reposted after their dismissal.

Narrating their ordeal Antonio said “All we doing is our job, we work 6 days out the week to deliver these packages during this coronavirus going on.”

The firing of the workers resulted in the #BoycottFedEx trend on Twitter, with over 55,000 tweets. A twitter user @mmpadellan expressed his outrage at FedEx saying, “Essential workers risk their lives to deliver stuff to ungrateful, hostile, and often RACIST [assh**es]. Nobody should be fired for standing up to jerks like that. That's why I won't be using FedEx any more. #BoycottFedEx.”

Supporters have started a GoFundme campaign to help the dismissed employees.

FedEx Price Action

FedEx shares closed 1.93% higher at $117.01 on Wednesday.
