3 Apple Headlines You Might Have Missed: Cars, More Cars And A Hissing iPhone

Did you miss any Apple Inc. AAPL today? Here's a chance to get caught up.

Will It Or Won't It

Reports swirled thick and fast concerning Apple holding talks with the UK luxury car maker and Formula One Team McLaren for either picking up a stake or a buyout. FT pitched the buyout value between $1.3 billion and $1.9 billion. Apple's interest in the UK company stems from its long-cherished dream to get into the self-driving electric car market.

However, McLaren denied there were any talks between itself and Apple.

Pacific Crest Unimpressed By Apple's Auto Quest

Pacific Crest gave the thumps down to reports of Apple foraying into the auto industry through an acquisition.

The firm said it doesn't want Apple buying a car company. Rather, the firm calls for Apple giving up any kind of lingering interest in the auto market and quit the pursuit along with the 1,000 employees working on the car.

Hiss That Fizzled

Apple's newest kid on the block, the iPhone 7, was in the news for wrong reasons. Reports suggested some buyers complained of a hissing noise, which reportedly came from the back of the phone and not the speaker.

For now, Apple can heave a sigh of relief, as the incidences of hissing are few and far between, obviating a total product recall.
