The tidings may sound sweet for those buyers who were taken for a ride by Fereidoun Fred Khalilian and his company Dolce Group Worldwide, which duped them by falsely promising extended auto warranties. The buyers were led into believing that My Car Solutions, under which the tricksters operated, had affiliations with auto dealers and manufacturers.

The Federal Trade Commission has collected the entire $4.26 million awarded by the judgment based on its June 2010 complaint. Consequently, the FTC will begin mailing 5,970 refund checks worth more than $4 million to the affected people. Rust Consulting has been appointed refund administrator for this purpose. The checks should be cashed within 60 days to avoid being rendered void.

As a further punitive action, the fraudsters are barred from telemarketing or helping others telemarket or making false claims when selling any goods or products.
