While HBO (Time Warner Inc TWX's drama slate (ex-“Game of Thrones”) may need some help as of late, its comedy slate has been very successful. On Tuesday, that imbalance went even more out of control as the network confirmed the return of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
The Emmy-winning series from Larry David has been off the air since 2011, but HBO has always made it clear when/if the option presented itself for more, they would be game.
The choice has always been up to David, and it has looked increasingly likely over the last year he was leaning in this specific direction.
True-to-form HBO wasn’t able to go into much detail about “Curb’s” return, but David did supply a quote, which given the show’s premise was fitting.
“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”
No air date has been announced, but its likely season nine would bow in 2017.
