Anacor Pharmaceuticals Inc ANAC rose 53.71 percent to $98.42 in pre-market trading after the company agreed to be acquired by Pfizer Inc. PFE for $99.25 per share.

Tribune Publishing Co TPUB rose 22.60 percent to $14.05 in pre-market trading as Gannett Co Inc GCI increased its offer to buy Tribune Publishing to $15 per share from $12.25 per share.

Memorial Resource Development Corp MRD shares rose 8.92 percent to $14.65 in pre-market trading after the company agreed to be acquired by Range Resources Corp. RRC in an all-stock deal valued at $4.4 billion.

Terex Corporation TEX shares rose 7.05 percent to $24.29 in pre-market trading after the company reported that it has reached an agreement to mutually terminate a business combination agreement with Konecranes. However, Terex has agreed to sell its Material Handling and Port Solutions business to Konecranes for a total consideration of approximately $1.3 billion.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc REGN shares rose 4.99 percent to $387.88 in the pre-market trading session. Temasek raised stake in Regeneron Pharmaceuticals to 126,351 shares from 58,289 shares.

Apple Inc. AAPL shares rose 2 percent to $92.33 in pre-market trading. According to Berkshire Hathaway's most recent Form 13F, the firm owns 9,811,747 shares of Apple.
